Randolph counselor receives Changing Lives Award

Patrice Lamour, CEO and president of Lamour Counseling and Consulting in Randolph, was presented the "Changing Lives Award" by the Parent/Professional Advocacy League (PPAL) of Massachusetts.

The award recognizes Lamour and her organization’s "creativity and commitment to finding new ways to improve the children’s mental health system" on a local and regional level.

The Parent/Professional Advocacy League is a statewide organization dedicated to improving the mental health of children, youth, and families through education, advocacy and partnership.

Lamour was recognized for her innovative behavioral health and Youth Development programs (In-Home Therapy program, Therapeutic Mentoring Program, Youth Development Early Learning Center – or Youth DELC – Out of School program) that help children, youth and their families with behavioral issues.

This specialized approach uses Dialectical Behavioral Treatment (DBT), in conjunction with other clinical approaches, coaching, supportive counseling, skills building, and therapeutic activities connected to community based positive outcomes and advocacy for children who haven’t been helped by traditional therapy.

Lamour Counseling and Consulting is a behavioral health clinic that specializes in comprehensive and integrated mental health services that meet the needs of children, adolescents, families and adults.

Counselors are multicultural providers speaking the language of their clients including Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole, Spanish, Haitian and French Creole, and Vietnamese.
